The Wave Collection
The Wave Collection explores movement, rhythm, and impermanence through a series of ocean-inspired works drawn from traditional Japanese woodblock aesthetics. Rolling swells, breaking crests, and layered horizons are rendered with flowing linework and restrained colour, evoking both the power and the stillness of the sea.
Rather than depicting a single moment, these works suggest continuity — waves forming, dissolving, and reforming in an endless cycle. The repetition of line and motion invites slow looking, allowing the eye to travel across the surface much as water moves across open sea.
Inspired by historical ukiyo-e imagery yet interpreted through a contemporary lens, the collection reflects on nature as both force and presence — something vast, unknowable, and quietly grounding. The restrained palettes and measured compositions make these works particularly suited to calm interiors, spaces for rest, or rooms designed for reflection.
Printed as archival giclée artworks on Hahnemühle German Etching paper, each piece retains fine tonal detail and depth, ensuring the subtle movement within the image remains present and tactile.
